Wheelersburg man accused of breaking out of cruiser

A Wheelersburg man is behind bars after breaking out a Sheriff's Department cruiser and taking off on foot.
Scioto County Sheriff Marty Donini said Kenneth Mitchell, 21, was place in the cruiser by a Porter Township community-policing deputy after being identified as a suspect in a burglary at a home on Wilson Street.
When the deputy was away from the vehicle, Donini said Mitchell broke the window of the cruiser and took off on foot.
He says Deputies caught up with Mitchell and took him to the county jail.
Mitchell is charged with burglary, vandalism and escape.
He's being held on a $25,000 bond.
