Winter Weather Causing Snow Totals Between 1-5 Inches Statewide
< < Back toA winter storm has blown into Ohio with snow, which has been relatively rare this season in much of the state.
Schools delayed their start times or even canceled classes on Friday, and road crews worked to keep streets clear. Officials in Cincinnati say that work was complicated by snow squalls, blowing snow and dropping temperatures.
The National Weather Service reports the snow was fairly light Thursday evening into today, including 1.5 inches in Columbus and less than a half-inch in Dayton.
Winter weather advisories covering most of Ohio look for total accumulations of as much as 5 inches.
Cleveland and counties to the east near Lake Erie are under a winter storm warning for up to a foot of snow by Saturday afternoon.
