Ohio University is fielding feedback about hydraulic fracturing from faculty and staff in forums held at each of the university's six campuses.

The OU President's Advisory Council on Sustainability Planning and the Ecology and Energy Conservation Committee are charged with gathering input about the controversial process known as fracking.

Forum participants will learn more about the possible leasing of oil and gas rights on state-owned property.

The forums are spread out through the end of the month.  The first one takes place at 2 p.m. today in Chillicothe.

The final forum will be held March 27 at 7 p.m. on the Athens campus.

The hosting groups will report university community opinions to the Board of Trustees at their April meeting.
