Football: Tyler Tettleton Named MAC East Offensive Player of the Week
< < Back toOhio University quarterback Tyler Tettleton was named MAC East Offensive Player of the Week on Monday. Tettleton led the Bobcats to a 24-14 victory against Penn State in Saturday’s nationally televised contest.
Tettleton threw for 324 yards, went 31 for 41 through the air, accounted for three Ohio touchdowns (two passing and one rushing) and had zero turnovers against the Nittany Lions. The Ohio quarterback even tacked on another 48 yards rushing.
Tettleton’s 31 completions and 41 attempts were both career highs. He is now 11-4 all-time as Ohio’s starter.
Also, Tettleton passed Austin Everson for fifth all-time in Ohio’s passing yardage records during the Penn State game. Lou Holtz gave Tettleton his “helmet sticker” on ESPN’s College Football Live, rewarding the Ohio QB for his great game on the big stage.
Ohio’s next game is on September 8 in Athens. Ohio will take on New Mexico State in the Bobcats’ 7 p.m. home opener.
