Kasich Pays 9/11 Tribute
< < Back toGov. John Kasich paid his respects to the victims of the September 11 terrorist attacks Tuesday morning.
He spent several minutes in silence in the middle of the nearly 3,000 American flags that dot the Statehouse lawn.
Each represents a life lost eleven years ago.
Kasich briefly spoke to the media, saying he thought about the children who lost parents in the attacks.
“Twenty-five years from now, one of those young girls is gonna get married. She’s gonna meet somebody and get married and say ‘How was your father?’ ‘Well, he was in that tower, and he didn’t make it out.’ It’s sad,” said Kasich.
The governor also mentioned the spouses left behind and expressed his gratitude to the first responders.
