The Trimble Lady Tomcats and Southern Lady Tornadoes squared off in an exciting game Thursday night with the Lady Tomcats picking up a 42-37 victory. Trimble always had the lead in the contest, however the Tornadoes were able to keep the game close throughout.
Twenty nine was the key number of this game. Trimble forced a total of 29 Southern turnovers. This kept Trimble in front and played a large part in their victory. Southern just couldn't seem to tighten up their passing and the wayward lobs gave Trimble the edge they needed.
Free throws made up a big part of Trimble's points as they made 12-of-22 free throws. Unfortunately for Southern, they were not as lucky. The Lady Tornadoes only managed to sink 4-of-18 free throw opportunities.
Key players for Trimble tonight included Emily McKee who scored 12 points, grabbed five rebounds and stole the ball four times. Her teammate Demi Moore also got her chance in the spotlight with seven points, six rebounds and three steals.
Southern had their share of spectacular play as well, mostly from Jansen Wolfe and Celeste Hendrix. Wolfe had a total of 17 points and 16 rebounds. Hendrix played lights out under the net with 12 rebounds and four points.
The next game for the Trimble Lady Tomcats is December 12th when they host Nelsonville-York.
