An intense game between the Athens Bulldogs and the Warren Warriors on Tuesday night proved to be one well worth the entrance fee for the hundreds of fans adorned in green or blue at McAfee Gymnasium.

Sophomore Ryan Luehrman was out again due to a back injury. According to coach Jeff Skinner, he is getting an MRI done in three weeks. The decision as to whether or not he will be back on the court any time soon will happen then.

The absence of the Luehrman was relieved by sophomore Joe Burrow who scored 24 points while barely sitting down throughout the duration of the game.

As a team, Athens accounted for 16 turnovers, 13 fouls and seven steals, all furthermore proving just how aggressive this Bulldogs squad is.

Skinner explained after the game that he felt his boys did everything right as far as effort and toughness, this one just didn’t go their way when the clock hit zero.

Evan French paced Warren on offense with 23 points. Also helping the Warriors’ cause was Reese Patton who added 18 points.

Athens will next take on the Alexander Spartans (3-7, 0-4 TVC-Ohio) at They Alley on Friday to look for another conference win.
