The 2013 Darwin Lecture Series

Dr. Reilly stopped by Studio B to talk about some of his work studying the biomechanics of frog jumping, as well as the 2013 Darwin Lecture Series.
This year's Darwin Lecture Series speaker is renowned primatologist and conservationist Dr. Patricia Wright.
Dr. Wright received a MacArthur Genius Fellowship in 1989 for her study of social and family interactions of wild lemurs in Ranomafana National Park, Madagascar, and currently teaches at Stony Brook University. Dr. Wright’s speech is entitled, “If Only Darwin Had Gone To Madagascar…"
Speaking on behalf of the annual Darwin Lecture Series, Dr. Reilly says, "One of OCEES (Ohio Center for Ecology & Evolutionary Studies) objectives is to expand the understanding of organismal science to our students, and our grad. students, and our faculty, but also to the community at large. So we wanted to bring in some interesting and important science speakers to the community and have them actually hang out with our grad students, our undergrads and the community."
The 2013 Darwin Lecture Series takes place Thursday, March 14 at 4 p.m. in Ohio University's Baker Theater. The lecture is free and open to the public.
