Softball: Dorsey Earns Second MAC Weekly Award
< < Back toOhio freshman Savannah Jo Dorsey was named MAC East Pitcher of the Week by league offices Tuesday. It is the second time Dorsey has earned the honor this season.
In three appearances over the weekend for Ohio, Dorsey pitched 10.2 innings of scoreless softball while striking out 13 batters.
Dorsey began the weekend with a complete game shutout of Toledo on Friday, allowing just three hits in a 6-0 win.
Saturday Dorsey picked up her first career save in two scoreless innings against Bowling Green. She pitched 1.2 innings in relief Sunday, allowing just one hit with two strikeouts.
Dorsey also did not concede a walk over the weekend. Going into Friday's doubleheader with Toledo, the freshman had walked 53 batters in 77.1 innings, an average of two batters every three frames.
Dorsey's WHIP on the weekend was 0.37.
Ohio returns home Tuesday evening for a doubleheader with Ohio State beginning at 5 p.m.
