Officers Seize Heroin, Cocaine During Traffic Stop

A traffic stop for following too close netted Oak Hill police a sizable drug arrest.

Oak Hill Police Chief Christopher Gruber said officers stopped a 2014 Chevrolet Cruise for a following too close violation on State Route 93 in the Village of Oak Hill Friday.

When the officer approached the car criminal indicators were observed and the Oak Hill Police canine unit was called in.

The canine alerted to the vehicle and a probable cause search was conducted.

The search found 497 grams of cocaine and 117 grams of heroin, with an estimated street value of $77,000, concealed in the trunk of the vehicle.

The driver, Monica Bryant, 34, of Columbus, Ohio was charged with possession of cocaine and possession of heroin and incarcerated.

The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office assisted in the case.
