WOUB voluteers and staff members are mourning the loss of Broadcast Engineer, David Moore.  Moore passed away Tuesday following medical complications.  He was 62 years old.

'Davey', as he was affectionately known, worked for WOUB for over 33 years.

A graduate of Athens High School, Moore started his career at WOUB in 1981 as a transmitter operator.  He then worked as a videotape operator and in recent years, served as a Broadcast Engineer in Master Control.

Moore also worked behind the scenes on thousands of WOUB Television productions, including, "Newswatch" and "Gridiron Glory."

Staff and former students will remember him as a kind man, who fought hard through many difficult medical conditions, including organ transplants in recent years.

“No matter what adversity Davey faced, he came to work with a smile on his face and a kind word,” said Chief Technology Officer Steve Skidmore. “He loved WOUB. He put his heart and soul into this place and we are extremely thankful for his dedication and service."

Arrangements are not available at this time.

He will be sorely missed.
