The former president of Ohio University’s Student Senate and two other former student senate representatives are appealing their convictions relating to protest over increased tuition costs.

Megan Marzec, Kyle Tussing and DJ Amireh were found guilty of persistent disorderly conduct during a bench trial in Athens County Municipal Court in March.

The fourth-degree misdemeanor charges stemmed from a protest of an OU Board of Trustees meeting in January. The trio had pleaded innocent to the charges on Jan. 23.
