COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) – Ohio’s elections chief plans to discuss his priorities for the year as the closely watched battleground state prepares for another presidential election.

Republican Secretary of State Jon Husted was to deliver remarks Wednesday afternoon to the Ohio Association of Election Officials.

Husted will likely address some snags that arose in the last November election, including glitches with poll books and postmarks for absentee ballots.

This past fall, electronic poll book issues caused voting delays in Hamilton County. And in Summit County, more than 800 ballots without postmarks were discarded because Ohio law requires ballots to have a postmark to be counted.

Husted has said he plans to promote poll worker training and is considering whether to require that absentee ballots be returned in letter-sized envelopes to avoid postmark problems.
