Ohio will be running in good weather again this weekend as they head down to North Carolina to compete in the Charlotte Invitational. The meet will feature 11 Division I schools and present the Bobcats with an opportunity to test themselves.

The meet should follow the narrative the entire season has. Throws will need to be the dominant force.

Last weekend, junior Jordan Porter won the shot put while senior Emma Ryan won the hammer throw and javelin. Similar results will be the goal for these Ohio athletes this weekend. The warm southern weather may be a welcome change for the sprinters who have battled in less than ideal conditions in their last two meets. With Charlotte temperatures expected to reach the mid 80s, strong performances can be expected from these runners.

Distance events will most likely produce superb outings, as well. Amelia Milton, as well as the 4×400 team, will bring its A-game to help the Bobcats continue their hot streak in this category.

This meet lasts from Friday afternoon to Saturday night. Along with the Charlotte action, the men’s cross country is in Cincinnati to compete in the All-Ohio Championship.

After this weekend, the track and field team will take part in the Jesse Owens Classic in Columbus.
