Dillon M. Deible, 20, was sentenced to five years in prison by Athens County Common Pleas Judge Patrick Lang on Tuesday. Three years of his sentence is mandatory.

Deible was charged with aggravated burglary, tampering with evidence and theft, according to a press release by the Athens County Prosecutor’s Office.

The incident was reported in April, when employees reported indications that Movies 10 and the Fun Barn had been broken into, according to previous WOUB reporting.

Deible was accused of “removing numerous items from Movies 10 and the Fun Barn without permission,” according to Prosecutor Keller Blackburn’s office.

“He later hid the evidence in an attempt to cover up their crimes,” Blackburn is quoted as saying in the release.

Two other men were arrested in April after investigators received information about “possible suspected who were in possession of stolen property in Logan and attempting to sell it,” the Athens County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement at the time of the arrests.

Lloyd Maffin, 18, and Hunter Maher, 18, both of Logan, were located and questioned.

“During the interviews, it was determined that both Maffin and Maher were involved with the break-in/theft of items from Movies 10/The Fun Barn,” the release stated.

Maher pleaded guilty in July to aggravated burglary, tampering with evidence and theft. He was sentenced to five years of community control.

Maffin also pleaded guilty to identical charges. In June, Judge George McCarthy sentenced him to five years of community control, with the requirement that he obtain his GED and employment and “give a truthful statement as to Dillon Deible and Hunter Maher’s involvement in this incident,” according to court documents.

Both Maher and Maffin were ordered to enter the STAR program, a community-based correctional facility in Franklin Furnace. They will both be entered into the Vivitrol opioid dependence program while there.
