HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (AP) – A film about growing up in West Virginia will be screened this month at Marshall University.

The showing of “Meadow Bridge” is set for 7 p.m. March 14 in Room 14 of Smith Hall on Marshall’s Huntington campus. The event is free and open to the public.

The screening will be followed by a question-and-answer session with the director, Tijah Bumgarner, who also wrote the script. She is an assistant professor of journalism and mass communication at Marshall.

Bumgarner began her filmmaking experience at CalArts in Valencia, California. “Meadow Bridge” is her first feature film.

The film has an all-West Virginian cast and tells the story of a 14-year-old girl growing up in a small West Virginia town in the late 1990s.
