The Meigs Lady Marauders won on their home court 57-45, Thursday night, after being swept last season by the Warren Lady Warriors.

At the start of the game, the Lady Marauders were neck and neck with the Lady Warriors. By the end of the first quarter, the score was 11-9. From there on out, the gap became wider as Meigs began to capitalize on rebounds from Warren.

Leading the way for the Lady Marauders was Becca Pullins, who dropped 21 points by banking six three-point shots from outside the arch. Following behind her was Mallory Hawley, she put 14 points on the board in just the first half.

Even though the Lady Warriors fell short, they battled it out on the hardwood with their team leader Molly Grayson. Grayson scored 15 points and swished four three-point shots from outside the paint.

During the second quarter, Warren changed from a man-to-man defense to a zone formation. But that did not stop Meigs from playing physical defense: forcing steals and turnovers for the Lady Warriors.

The game was scrappy, having hard fought battles on the ground and in the air. But, the Lady Marauders proved themselves on the court by taking advantage of the Lady Warriors lack of baskets by capitalizing on rebounds.

The Lady Marauders have a promising season ahead of themselves and look to continue their success on the court throughout the season.
