TYLER COUNTY, W. Va. (WOUB) — A sheriff’s office in northern West Virginia says deputies found imitation candy laced with THC in the county.

The Tyler County Sheriff’s Office wrote Tuesday in a Facebook post that the imitation sweets resemble Nerds Rope candy.

THC, a chemical compound found in marijuana, can be harmful to children if they ingest it. According to the sheriff’s office, one of the THC-infused candies is more potent than “a common joint of marijuana” by 35 percent.
