Like most everything else, Radio Free Athens has been impacted by the COVID-19 crisis. Although you won’t get to hear your favorite DJs on the air for a while, we will be supplying faithful listeners with playlists in the meantime. Find them below!

Radio Free Athens

From R@T

This week’s playlist has been largely influenced by thinking about how the pandemic has affected friendships. I definitely miss seeing many people on a regular basis.  I also had to throw in a Charlie Daniels song after he passed away this week. It reminded me of what was probably the first big show that I saw in 1977 or 1978 at Legend Valley (Buckeye Lake) music center. It was The Pleasant Mountain Boys, McGuffey Lane, The Allman Brothers Band and The Charlie Daniels Band. I hope you are all doing well and that you are staying close to your friends.

Waterliars- Let It Breathe
Gotye- Somebody I Used to Know
The Grateful Dead- Friend of the Devil
Bob Dylan- It Takes a Lot to Laugh, a Train to Cry
Led Zeppelin- Friends
Ween- Falling Out
Tim Easton- Don’t Lie
Cracker- I’m Sorry Baby
The Beatles- Run For Your Life
The Allman Brothers- Ain’t Wasting Time No More
Barry White- Never Gonna Give You Up
The Afghan Whigs- Crazy
Public Image Limited- Happy
The Charlie Daniels Band- Long Haired Country Boy

This week’s list is Bands You Thought You Knew, featuring songs from famous acts you would not guess without looking.
