TVC-Hocking Standings

1st  Trimble Tomcats (12-0, 8-0)

The Girls struggled in their victory against Belpre on Tuesday due to turnovers, but were able to turn it around in dominant fashion with a 82-50 win against Southern on Thursday. Trimble’s sole matchup this week will come against a tough opponent in Portsmouth West on Saturday.

2nd Waterford Wildcats (11-1, 5-1)

The Wildcats racked up two wins against out-of-conference foes Monroe Central and Margaretta last week, furthering their excellent state-ranked season performance. Waterford will look to build on their momentum as they face off against Belpre, Fort Frye and Southern this week.

3rd  South Gallia Rebels (9-4, 5-2)

South Gallia ended their three game losing streak with back-to-back wins against Southern and Athens this past week. With the Rebels on the fringe of title contention, they’ll be faced with four games against River Valley, Symmes Valley, Eastern and Sciotoville East.

4th  Eastern Eagles (8-7, 4-3)

The Eagles faced off against district rival Meigs on Monday, but were bested in a 54-37 loss. However, Eastern responded by beating Belpre in a close 44-37 win. They have yet to be two games above .500 this season, but their Tuesday matchup against struggling Wellston could be enough to push them over the edge.

5th   Belpre Golden Eagles (3-12, 2-6)

The Golden Eagles dropped back-to-back losses this past week in tough games against Trimble and Eastern. Their upcoming week will be faced with tough matchups against Meigs and Waterford.

6th  Federal Hocking Lancers (0-8, 0-5)

The Lancers have yet to record a win this season, yet another cancellation against Adena and Southern’s slew of losses put them at the sixth place spot entering this week. They’ll be back on the court for the first time in two weeks this Wednesday against Jackson, then will look to go head to head against seventh placed Southern on Thursday.

7th Southern Tornadoes (3-12, 0-6)

The Tornadoes three losses against South Gallia, Trimble and Ravenswood put them bottom of the conference based on total amount of losses. However, their matchup against Federal Hocking will give them a chance to propel back to sixth in the standings.

TVC-Ohio Standings

1st  Alexander Spartans (8-7, 6-1)

The Spartans started their week with a tough loss against Jackson, but managed to secure a conference victory against rival Athens on Friday. With the win, Alexander jumped to first place in the TVC-Ohio. The Spartans will look to maintain their first-place status with a conference matchup against Wellston on Friday.

2nd Vinton County Vikings (8-4, 5-1)

The Lady Vikings suffered a heavy loss against Marietta on Wednesday, followed by a close overtime loss to AP Division III top seeded Wheelersburg on Saturday. The Vikings will resume to conference play this week in a highly anticipated matchup against Nelsonville-York.

3rd Nelsonville-York Buckeyes (9-6, 6-2)

The Lady Buckeyes beat Athens in dominant fashion but dropped a closely fought matchup against conference opponent Meigs on Saturday. With the loss, the Buckeyes now sit a game behind first, making their matchup against Nelsonville-York a must win if they want to keep their title hopes alive.

4th Meigs Marauders (10-4, 4-4)

The Lady Marauders busy week resulted in all W’s against Eastern, Wellston, and an upset over top-seeded Nelsonville-York. With the wins, Meigs could potentially see a turnaround on their season as they face off against out of conference opponents Belpre and Wahama.

5th Athens Bulldogs (3-11, 3-4)

The Bulldogs three matchups against McClain, Nelsonville-York and South Gallia all resulted in losses, extending their losing streak to four in a row. They’ll look to reverse their results this week with matchups against Meigs and River View.

6th River Valley Raiders (5-9, 1-6)

With their loss against Alexander, the Raiders have officially been eliminated from TVC-Ohio title contention on the season. The Raiders will look to turn their four game losing streak around this week against South Gallia, Wellston and Jackson.

7th Wellston Golden Rockets (4-11, 0-7)

The Golden Rockets failed to record a win this week in matchups against Oak Hill, Meigs and Rock Hill. This week will see Wellston attempt to get their first conference win against River Valley on Wednesday.
