WOUB Senior Spotlight: Sullivan Beach
< < Back toBy Annabelle Dilts
ATHENS, OH – Hailing from Painesville, Ohio, Sullivan Beach is ready to start his career in the professional media world after graduating from Ohio University this May. Beach is a journalism news and information major with a minor in political science. He believes Ohio University and WOUB were much needed stepping stones into post-graduation life.
Beach has been involved in WOUB for three years. He has worked on Gridiron Glory, Hardwood Heroes, The Bobcat Sports Showcase, and NewsWatch, where he served as an anchor and multimedia journalist.
“My favorite part of being a NewsWatch anchor was the feeling I got after a successful broadcast and the professional environment,” said Beach. “I chose to come work at WOUB because my dream was always to become a news anchor, and WOUB seemed like the best place to learn.”
Beach’s dream, which pairs well with his last name, is to work as a news anchor at a station on the ocean.
“Learning to surf has been on my bucket list for a long time!”
Beach says he encourages those just getting their start at Ohio University and WOUB to believe in themselves and take advantage of every opportunity.
“My advice to freshmen at Ohio University would be to be bold and never give up,” said Beach. “Always be yourself and remember your goals and aspirations, regardless of what anyone else thinks. Put your confidence in yourself, and no one else.”
