The Ohio University Zanesville Choral Union will present its annual fall concert at 7:30 p.m. on Dec. 10 in the Elson Hall auditorium.
The campus’ oldest performing arts group will be celebrating its 14th season under the direction of its conductor, Charles Savage.
“Last Night At The Union” Song Raises Funds For Musicians

On Nov. 16, flames erupted on West Union Street in Athens, just hours after local band Blond finished their set at The Union Bar and Grill. While no one was in the bar at the time of the fire, Blond ended up losing all of their instruments, valued at nearly $3000.
Now another band is offering assistance. Proceeds from Injecting Strangers' new single, "Last Night at The Union," will help Blond replace their musical equipment. The song is now available for download from the Cincinnati band's Bandcamp page.
Storyteller, Musician To Perform For Dec. 3 Pre-Kwanzaa Celebration
Ohio University will host a Pre-Kwanzaa Celebration at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 3 at the Baker University Center Ballroom A.
Madafo, a storyteller and musician, will perform during the celebration.

Fur Peace Station Announces 2015 Concert Season
Tickets for the 2015 concert season at Jorma and Vanessa Kaukonen’s Fur Peace Station are now on sale.
The series, which offers a variety of music styles performed by dynamic musicians, will feature rare performances and concert pairings.

Violin Shop To Host Grand Opening Next Month

One Athens retailer has a new pitch — that of the violin. The Fiddle and Bow, located at 77-1/2 E. State Street, will host its grand opening on Dec. 5.
However, violins aren’t the only merchandise the shop has for sale. It also offers eclectic hats–such as fedoras and cabbie hats–as well as bowties and other miscellaneous items.
Pink Paws 5K Run/Walk During Breast Cancer Awareness Month
As the end of Breast Cancer Awareness Month draws near, the senior nursing class of Ohio University’s College of Health Sciences and Professions kicks it into high gear to finish preparing for the Pink Paws for the Cause 5K run/walk.
The event is scheduled for Sunday, Nov. 2 from 12-4 p.m. on the Athens bike path and begins near the Convocation Center tailgate area.
