Join this field day to see a chestnut orchard in person\, tour a processing facility\, and learn about how the individuals at Route 9 Cooperative are making value-added flours from chestnuts and acorns. \nRural Action has partnered with Route 9 to trial the use of a coffee roaster to enhance the flavor of nut products for use in baked goods\, beverages\, and dairy products. \nAttendees can expect to learn about growing and gathering the nuts to roasting and processing the flour.
