Submissions can range from the most traditional to the most conceptual or experimental. DESCRIPTION:NELSONVILLE\, OHIO: Beginning on October 6th\, 2021\, Paper Circle in Nelsonville\, Ohio\, will be hosting Accessible Expressions Ohio\, a touring exhibition of artworks created by Ohio artists with dis/abilities. \nThe Accessible Expressions Ohio show at Paper Circle will include over twenty pieces of art that were selected in a juried process. It is sponsored by Art Possible Ohio (APO)\, a state service organization that helps to raise awareness and change perceptions about dis/ability. Artists of any age\, living in Ohio\, with a dis/ability may enter artwork in one of three categories: Youth\, Emerging\, or Professional. APO connects artists with peers and a statewide audience of potential patrons. \n“We’re honored and excited to have the Accessible Expressions Ohio exhibit on display in our studio this fall\,” said Scout Ery\, executive director of Paper Circle. “We hope people in the area will come see the diverse types of artwork in this show.” \nPeople wishing to see the exhibit can visit in person at Paper Circle\, 35 W. Columbus St. in Nelsonville\, OH\, Mon-Fri between 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. No appointment is needed but masks are required inside the studio. \nPaper Circle is a non-profit studio and gallery located in Nelsonville\, OH. Founded by Sara Gilfert in 2002\, the organization is dedicated to the creation and promotion of art using handmade paper from recycled and natural fibers. The working studio promotes public understanding through exhibits and educational programs. Its signature paper\, O-Gami\, is uniquely suited to origami art.

DESCRIPTION:The Marietta College Art Department is pleased to present “Signs of Life in the Substratum\,” a solo exhibition by Lisa McLymont on display in Gallery 310\, Oct. 22 through Nov 23\, 2021\, with an Artist Reception on Friday\, Oct. 22th from 5-6:30pm. She will discuss the work in the exhibition from 6-6:30pm on Oct. 22th at the reception. \nBased in Columbus\, Ohio\, Lisa McLymont is represented by Contemporary Art Matters Gallery\, also in Columbus. In 2019\, she was named by Columbus Underground’s Top 10 Artists. She has been in numerous exhibitions including: Ohio Diaspora at Riffe Gallery\, Art Unbound at Carnegie Gallery\, and Art for Life at the Columbus Museum of Art. Additionally\, she has been reviewed and interviewed by The Columbus Dispatch\, Columbus Alive\, PBS American Portrait\, and many others. \nLisa describes her work as a continued look at Ohio’s history. “In addition to burying their elders\, Natives used the land to record stories and display knowledge in their alignment of elements with the solstices to note the passing of time and the seasons.” She asks the important questions of who “owns” land and how do we keep it healthy and rich. \nThe exhibition and artist reception is free and open to the public (masks are required and must be worn correctly). \nGallery 310 is located on the third floor of the Hermann Fine Arts Center at Marietta College. Gallery hours are Mondays\, Tuesdays\, and Wednesdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.\, and Thursdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.\, or by appointment at gallery310@marietta.edu. Gallery 310 observes all Marietta College holidays and breaks.
