SUMMARY:Cat's Pajamas Clothing Exchange 2017
DESCRIPTION:The Cat’s Pajamas Clothing Exchange is a biannual fundraiser for ARTS/West\, a non-profit arts organization. During the exchange days\, March 30–April 1\, a massive amount of clothing will be available in the ARTS/West performance space.  Those who donate clothing early will receive a “golden ticket” that allows unlimited clothing items. If clothing is brought on the days of the exchange\, patrons will get a “regular” ticket\, which lets patrons take as many items as they brought\, additional items $1. Thursday\, March 30 is ARTS/West Member night\, and will be open to all ARTS/West members\, and has a $15 entry fee. Membership to ARTS/West starts at $20 for students or $30 for community members for a full year membership. Entry to the exchange is $15 on Friday\, March 31\, & $10 on April 1. Once entry is paid\, return entry is free the rest of the weekend. (Entry is only paid once.) Admission is free for children 12 & under!  \nExchange hours are 6-8pm on Thursday\, March 30th for Members’ night\, 5-8pm on Friday\, March 31 and 10am-6pm on Saturday\, April 1. \n\nContinuing through Thursday\, March 30th\, 2017 bring unwanted clothing items to ARTS/West during open hours (Monday – Thursday 10am – 8pm). Please call ARTS/West at 740-592-4315 to arrange a time outside of regular business hours. Those who donate early will receive a “golden ticket” for unlimited items during the March 30-April 1 event days.

SUMMARY:WildCat Hollow Guided Hike
DESCRIPTION:Join Rural Action’s Sunday Creek Watershed Group for a guided hike along the Wayne National Forest’s scenic Wildcat Hollow trail. The hike will take place on Saturday April 8th beginning at 9 am and finishing up by noon. We will meet at the trailhead at 9 am. \nThis trail consists of meadows\, quiet streams\, ridgetops\, rock outcrops\, dense deciduous forest and pine plantations. The guided hike will consist of a tour of the land\, identifying wildflowers that have emerged and bird species as we see them. Please dress for the weather including boots and bring water and snacks for yourself. A good field guide and a pair of binoculars would be a great tool to have! Do not miss out on this exciting opportunity!  \nDirections to the location: Follow State Route 13 north towards Corning\, at Irish Ridge Road (CR 16)  take a right\, follow Irish Ridge as it veers to the left just after your turn off 13\, following brown signs for Wildcat Hollow Hiking Trail; another right on Township road 298\, this will ultimately take you to the trailhead and camping area. There are signs posted along the roadsides giving direction to the trailhead as well. We should arrive back to the vehicles by noon that day.\n \nRural Action is a member-based sustainable community development organization. Their mission is to foster social\, economic\, and environmental justice in Appalachian Ohio. Learn alongside professionals from all sectors and community members about how to build a supportive community around our neighbors who are affected by the opioid crisis. \nFor the Town Hall\, we will host a panel discussion featuring Tina Willauer\, Director of Sobriety Treatment and Recovery Teams (S.T.A.R.T.) of the Kentucky Department for Community Based Services. She will describe best practice principles and strategies that work well for families with co-occurring substance use and child maltreatment. She’ll also discuss her experience with S.T.A.R.T. and an example of the program implemented in a nearby Appalachian community. \nThe town hall is a free community event but registration is encouraged due to capacity limits.
