SUMMARY:The Laramie Project
DESCRIPTION:Athens High School along with ABC Players and ARTS/West Presents brings a staged reading of The Laramie Project to ARTS/West on May 3 at 7:30pm. The play\, written by Moisés Kaufman and the members of the Tectonic Theater Project\, is based on the true story of the hate crime and trial of Matthew Shepard. The play features portraits of the community’s response to the murder in what has been called the modern Our Town. This event shined a light on the lack of protection laws against hate crimes in Wyoming and the United States.

This is our opportunity to thank this wonderful community for your continued support as we approach Adyn’s Dream 3rd birthday in June! We know that Memorial Day is a day to spend with friends & family\, so why not meet up at the beautiful lawn behind the Eclipse Company Store to enjoy some incredible music. You won’t have to worry about cleaning the house or buying all the groceries for a home cook-out … Food will be provided by Kisers BBQ\, and we’ll have over 40 beers on tap as well! The stage sits right off the bike path\, so biking to our event is a great idea too! \nWe had such a great turnout last year that we decided to keep the good thing going! We welcome back The Broomestix this year!!! This incredible funk band is bound to get you moving and keep you smiling! We’ll be sharing some of the clips of their performance last year\, so stay tuned! We are also excited to have local favorites Bright At Night returning this year! If you haven’t attended one of their shows yet – here’s your chance! They are one of of Adyn’s favorite local bands that always make it a party! Finally\, we will open the afternoon with the wonderful Aubree Riley! An up & coming local singer/songwriter with a powerful voice & sincere folk presence. There is no doubt this will be a great afternoon of music for the entire family!
