SUMMARY:Empty Bowls – Amesville Elementary
DESCRIPTION:Thursday\, November 9th Amesville Elementary will be hosting their 3rd Annual Empty Bowls event.  Empty Bowls is a ceramic art show and soup supper that is open to the public.  Proceeds from the event go to the Athens County Food Pantry.  Students from grades PreSchool to 6th grade will have bowls for sale.  There will also be silent auction items for sale by local artists.  Please come and join us from 5:00-7:00 pm.  Bowls are $3\, and soup is $1 for children and $2 for adults.

DESCRIPTION:This year’s Writers Harvest reading\, an annual event presented by the Ohio University Creative Writing program\, will host three local writers for an evening of literary nourishment. \nThe event—part of a nation-wide reading series—benefits hunger relief efforts in the region\, with all proceeds going to Hocking Athens Perry Community Action’s food assistance programs and to the Southeast Ohio Food Bank. This year’s goal is to raise $500 in donations for these organizations. \nWriters Harvest takes place on Thursday\, November 9\, at 7:30 p.m. in the Walter Hall Rotunda\, and there is a $5 admission donation. This year’s lineup features poet Bianca Spriggs\, nonfiction writer David Wanczyk\, and fiction writer David E. Yee. A reception and book signing follows\, with refreshments from Fluff Bakery.
