DESCRIPTION:Car Wash to support Athens Ohio Roller Derby\nWhen: Saturday\, September 10th\, 10-2\nWhere: Athens community center\nCome support your local roller derby team!\nAs we get back to skating after 2 years away\, we are raising funds to support back-to-practice costs.\nFunds raised will support the team pay for practice space at Dows Roll-arena in Nesonville Ohio.\nEver wondered about roller derby? Skaters will be on site to answer any of your roller derby questions!\nAthens Ohio Roller Derby (AORD) is a skater owned and operated amateur non-profit organization comprised of women+ from Athens\, Ohio and the surrounding region in the form of an amateur roller derby league following the rules and ethics set forth by the Women’s Flat Track Derby Association (WFTDA). AORD consists of two teams\, The Appalachian Hell Betties and The Black Diamond Betties.\n\nWe are a grassroots organization built by the hands of women who have and will continue to inspire the love of roller derby to their community. AORD is committed to fostering the empowerment of people of all races\, colors\, national origins\, gender expression\, sexual orientation\, ages\, and body types by serving as positive athletic role models. We accept those who wish to referee\, compete\, skate recreationally\, and/or participate off-skates. An individual who identifies as a trans woman\, intersex woman\, and/or gender expansive may skate with AORD if women’s flat track roller derby is the version and composition of roller derby with which they most closely identify.
