DESCRIPTION:The 2025 Little Cities of Black Diamonds Day will take place at historic Stuart’s Opera House in Nelsonville! This event is FREE to the public.\nLittle Cities Day is an annual festival celebrating the heritage of Ohio’s Little Cities of Black Diamonds region. Come listen to presentations on the region’s history and folk music\, see exhibits from bottle collecting to handmade art\, and enjoy meeting other local history enthusiasts.\nDoors open at 10:30am with speakers scheduled throughout the day\, ending with a cocktail hour reception from 5:00pm to 6:00pm in support of Stuart’s Opera House.\nThis year’s Little Cities Day marks the first time this particular event is being held in Athens County. Come join us for a fun filled day of history and community!

SUMMARY:Catholic Ladies of Columbia Ice Cream Social
DESCRIPTION:The Catholic Ladies of Columbia will host their annual Ice Cream Social Fundraiser on Saturday\, September 6\, 2025\, from 4 p.m. – 7 p.m. in The Holy Family Center\, 75 Stewart Street\, Athens.  The ladies will be serving pulled pork and chicken salad sandwiches\, hot dogs/sauce\, baked beans\, coleslaw\, mac & cheese and chips. Premium Larry’s Dawg House ice cream and toppings plus home-baked pies\, brownies and sundae cookies will be available. \nCake walks will be held throughout the event. We will also have a fun chance auction\, 50/50 split the pot\, children’s grab bags and a bean bag toss for Beanie babies.  A free craft table for children will be provided. A Silent Auction featuring 15 specialty packages will be available for silent bids. We have 2 OSU vs UCLA football 50-yard line tickets\, autographed photo of Joe Burrow\, 4 OU Bobcat Football tickets\, 80 x 90 Scrappy Christmas Quilt\, Zoo tickets and so much more. \nEveryone is welcome.  Please come out to support the CLC and enjoy an afternoon of fun\, food and friendship.
