DESCRIPTION:Three nationally-recognized speakers will be coming to Marietta to discuss their research on injection wells\, water contamination and protection\, and the state of Ohio and its history of lax enforcement and oversight of oil and gas waste. Washington County accepted over 2.8 billion gallons of this toxic\, radioactive wastewater between 2010-2024. That equals 4\,313 Olympic swimming pools. With the 4 active injection wells proposed around Marietta–within 2 miles of the source water protection area–and Warren Township\, and with three more injection wells proposed\, how much more toxic\, radioactive waste can Washington County take before our aquifers are contaminated? DESCRIPTION:Weekly community group runs for runners and walkers of all abilities take place every Tuesday at 6:00pm at Ohio Valley Running Company (20 Station Street in Athens). Runs take place on the bikepath\, so you have the opportunity to go as short or as long as you’d like. Masks are not required during the run\, but we ask you to please wear your mask prior to the start of the run\, after the run\, and while in the store.

DESCRIPTION:Join Rose Keyes of True Heart Yoga Studio for an in-depth workshop focused on unlocking restrictions and restoring mobility in the feet\, hips\, and shoulders. Throughout the workshop we will utilize a variety of poses that incorporate gravity\, one’s own body weight\, and props – like bolsters and straps – to target restrictions deep within the joints. This style of yoga takes a therapeutic approach to movement\, and is especially beneficial for people experiencing chronic pain\, depression/anxiety\, hormonal issues\, or who are in recovery from injuries.
