DESCRIPTION:The Gallia County Health District invites families to its annual Back-to-School Healthy Kick Start\, a community event designed to help students prepare for the upcoming school year. Parents are reminded that most childhood immunizations are required by age two\, with additional vaccinations necessary for entrance into kindergarten\, 7th grade\, and 12th grade. \nImmunizations will be available at no cost to children who qualify for the Vaccines for Children (VFC) program through age 18. Medicaid and private insurance are also accepted. \nThis event is open to the public and provides a convenient opportunity for families in the Gallipolis City School District and Gallia County Local Schools to catch up on vaccines or check off items on their school supply lists. \nIn addition to health services\, a variety of local agencies will be on-site offering resources and activities—including the WOUB Learning Lab and other community partners. \nPlease note: Parking will be accessible via Merrill Evans Way (next to the Shake Shoppe). Guests should park in the designated field on the right. Local scout volunteers and members of the Gallia County Sheriff’s Office will be on-site to assist with parking and ensure a smooth arrival. Accessible parking accommodations are available upon request. \n

Formed as a community music project in Amesville\, Ohio\, the band draws its name—and its members—from the neighboring townships of Ames and Bern in Athens County. A high-spirited ensemble with a passion for filling dance floors\, the Ridge Rounders value music and community above all else.  \nThe Plain Gold Band (AKA The Indescribables) – Reluctant frontman Roger Good brings his deep-catalog repertoire and melodic nuance to the stage\, joined by Jeff Redefer and Mark Burhans—two outstanding musicians enhancing the evening. While not a permanent ensemble\, this “ephemeral overdue confabulation” is united by mutual affection and respect for the inimitable Alonzo Weed. Expect soulful interpretations\, underappreciated gems\, and the kind of musical chemistry that needs no fixed name.
