SUMMARY:Missoula Children's Theatre: Pinocchio
DESCRIPTION:Peoples Bank Theatre is excited to welcome Missoula Children’s Theatre for a summer production of Pinocchio. Performances are scheduled for Saturday\, July 23 at 3 p.m. and 5:30. \nAuditions for Pinocchio will be Monday\, July 18 from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Students entering 1st grade through 12th grade are encouraged to audition. Approximately 50-60 local students will be cast to appear in the show. (Please note: There is no guarantee that everyone who auditions will be cast in the play.) Students wishing to audition must arrive by the scheduled starting time and stay for the entire two-hour session. The first rehearsal begins approximately 15-30 minutes after the audition. \nDue to time constraints\, late-comers and anyone missing the initial audition may not be considered in the casting of the show. \nMost students in the production will rehearse daily 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.\, Tuesday through Friday. Although not all cast members will be needed at every session\, those auditioning must have a clear schedule for the entire week and if selected\, be able to attend all rehearsals required for their role. A detailed rehearsal schedule will be distributed at the conclusion of the audition. Cast members scheduled for the full 4½ hours of rehearsal will be asked to bring a sack lunch or snack. \n

DESCRIPTION:We’ll visit flat-topped pyramids that bear an uncanny resemblance to Aztec temples; walk down a sacred road more than 20 centuries old; and stand atop the Quadranou Mound where ancient astronomer-priests studied the movement of the sun\, moon and stars. \nWe’ll also explore enigmatic Mound Cemetery\, the final resting place of Revolutionary War Patriots\, and hear local myths of lost tribes\, refugees from Atlantis\, giants\, goblins and buried treasure as we walk through the lovely Victorian neighborhood that surrounds the mounds. \nThis tour is a fantastic opportunity to step way back in time. Over 2000 years old\, the earthworks in this area are an important key to Marietta’s past. \nAncient Earthworks departs from Mound Cemetery’s 5th Street gate (5th and Scammel Streets) at 1pm \n$15 for adults\, $10 for children under 12. \nTour duration 90 minutes to 2 hours. The distance covered is just over 1.5 miles. \nAlthough much of the Ancient Earthworks tour is over sidewalks\, we walk through the grass and over some uneven terrain when we visit the Quadranou Mound. The informational meeting will be Thursday\, August 25\, at 6:00 pm\, at Athens County Children Services\, Building 14. \nMeet some of the dedicated staff\, and have your questions answered about how to become a foster and/or adoptive parent. There is no obligation to move forward. Light refreshments will be provided. \nAthens County foster families not only provide children with temporary homes\, safety and nurturing\, but they also help birth families by ensuring children can be safely reunited with them.  When reunification is not possible\, many foster families choose to adopt the children who have been placed in their homes.  This offers permanency and stability that the children may not otherwise know. \n

DESCRIPTION:Throughout 2016 Camp Oty’Okwa will be hosting Free Community Hikes on its property. These hikes will take place one Saturday of each month. Participants of all ages will get the chance to explore some of the most beautiful land the Hocking Hills has to offer\, including hemlock forests\, sandstone gorges\, and much\, much more. \nAll hikes will be led by experienced Camp naturalists and staff members. DESCRIPTION:We’ll visit flat-topped pyramids that bear an uncanny resemblance to Aztec temples; walk down a sacred road more than 20 centuries old; and stand atop the Quadranou Mound where ancient astronomer-priests studied the movement of the sun\, moon and stars. \nWe’ll also explore enigmatic Mound Cemetery\, the final resting place of Revolutionary War Patriots\, and hear local myths of lost tribes\, refugees from Atlantis\, giants\, goblins and buried treasure as we walk through the lovely Victorian neighborhood that surrounds the mounds. \nThis tour is a fantastic opportunity to step way back in time. Over 2000 years old\, the earthworks in this area are an important key to Marietta’s past. \nAncient Earthworks departs from Mound Cemetery’s 5th Street gate (5th and Scammel Streets) at 1pm on September 10 and October 8. \n$15 for adults\, $10 for children under 12. \nTour duration is 2 hours. The distance covered is just over 1.5 miles. \nAlthough much of the Ancient Earthworks tour is over sidewalks\, we walk through the grass and over some uneven terrain when we visit the Quadranou Mound. Comfortable walking shoes are highly recommended.

DESCRIPTION:Walk our streets\, touch our past and hear our tales of tragedies\, hauntings and unsettling paranormal encounters. Your heart will beat faster. You’ll quicken your pace. You may even find yourself glancing over your shoulder from time to time. \nGhost Trek departs from the fountain at the corner of Front and Greene Streets\, across from the Lafayette Hotel\, every evening at 8pm\, August through October\, weather permitting. \nAdults – $15. Kids 12 and under – $10\, parental discretion advised (some subject matter not appropriate for young children) \nTour duration is approximately 90 minutes to 2 hours. The total distance covered is a little over one mile. Although the entire course of Ghost Trek is over paved or brick streets\, comfortable walking shoes are highly recommended. Flashlights suggested. Cameras welcome!
