DESCRIPTION:Want to get your brain and body moving and meet new friends? Scottish Country Dance is a social dance form a bit like contra\, but with more footwork. The name of the game is fun! \nThis four-week class meets every Sunday from 2 to 3 pm at the Athens Community Center between June 6 and 29. Each week we’ll be building on the previous week’s session\, so drop-ins aren’t possible. (However\, if you need to miss a single class\, you’ll be fine.) \nStart at the very beginning\, with no partner or experience necessary. If you can walk briskly\, you can dance! \nWe teach gender neutrally and are very welcoming to folks who haven’t danced before. DESCRIPTION:The Diabetes Institute offers the only Type 1 Diabetes Camp to youth ages 8-17 living with diabetes in Southeastern Ohio. Campers can connect with peers\, learn important diabetes management skills\, and have a lot of fun! Your child will grow their confidence in managing their diabetes and in themselves. \nDaily activities include arts and crafts\, music\, drama\, games\, physical activity\, and adventures such as a low ropes course and climbing wall. Our camp encourages independent diabetes management while providing medical staff to help educate and assist campers when needed. The group environment allows the campers to learn coping skills needed for everyday management of their diabetes. \nImportant information: \n– Camp runs June 9th to June 13th from 9:00 am – 3:00 pm. \n– On campus housing is available for families for four nights ($100). \n– Registration is $50. Scholarships are available; no camper is turned away for inability to pay.
