The play\, written by Moisés Kaufman and the members of the Tectonic Theater Project\, is based on the true story of the hate crime and trial of Matthew Shepard. The play features portraits of the community’s response to the murder in what has been called the modern Our Town. This event shined a light on the lack of protection laws against hate crimes in Wyoming and the United States.
