This festival is the 3rd longest running marching band festival in the state of Ohio. High School bands from Southeast and Central Ohio will travel in to perform at this prestigious event! Bands scheduled to perform include: Southern\, Nelsonville-York\, Shawnee\, Chillicothe\, Bishop Watterson\, Berne Union\, Groveport Madison\, and Athens. The festival is sponsored by the Athens Band Boosters\, Kiwanis Club of Downtown Athens\, and Chauncey-Dover Lions. Admission is $5 and proceeds go to benefit these community organizations. DESCRIPTION:Another way to enjoy the wintry weather is to come to our 16th annual Groundhog Hike at Strouds Run State Park. Mark your calendars for Sunday\, 03 February\, 2019. The hike will start from the Bobcat Shelter (Shelterhouse 2) by the boat ramp at Dow Lake. The starting window is noon to 1 pm. This is a self-guided hike but some guided options will be available. It is sponsored jointly by the Athens Conservancy and the Friends of Strouds Run State Park. Free refreshments will be provided\, as will free trail maps. Options for length of hike are 3.2\, 4.8\, and 6.25 miles. There will be shorter\, kid-friendly hikes at 12:15 and 12:45 pm.\n\nHikers will be off the trail in plenty of time to prepare for the Superbowl!
