Refreshments will be for sale by the National Trail Ruritan Club\, with all proceeds going to the New Concord Food Bank. \n\nAugust 13  – Northwest Territory\nAugust 27  – Swing’s the Thing\n\nCelebrate New Concord (CNC) began informally in 2000 with a free performance in Village Park by the Muskingum College Faculty Brass Quintet\, which was then directed by the late Dr. William Schlacks. Based on the response that year\, Celebrate New Concord began in 2001\, with Bill as its founder. \nSince then\, CNC has grown to six performances each summer\, on the second and fourth Tuesdays of June\, July and August\, at 7:00 p.m. in Village Park in downtown New Concord. \nCNC has reached over 17\,000 audience members since 2001\, with a mix of music\, theater\, educational programming and magic\, and has become a regular part of summer in New Concord. \nCNC is supported entirely by contributions from individuals and organizations to the Celebrate New Concord Patronage Program\, and every dollar received goes to support the series. No one involved in the organization of CNC is paid.

DESCRIPTION:The Bowen House is pleased to have local guitar talent\, Audie Wykle and friends for an evening of finger-style guitar pickin’. \n\n\n\n\nAudie Wykle began playing guitar when he was 12 years old.  Audie has toured with Nashville singer /songwriter Ken Mellons whose hits include “Jukebox Junkie”\, “I Can Bring Her Back” and “Still They Call Me Love”.  In 2008 he appeared on the Jerry Reed tribute dvd\, “21 Guitar Salute” taped in Nashville\, along with guitar greats Thom Bresh\, Pat Bergeson\, Richard Smith\, Chip Young and Brent Mason. \nIn 2017\, Audie was inducted as an Artist Member of the Wheeling Jamboree.  The Wheeling Jamboree is second only to the Grand Ole Opry as the longest running live country music radio show. \nAudie will be joined by Logan native Dean Inboden. He has performed with Dick Dale\, the Texas Troubadours and many others. He currently teaches guitar at Music Royale in Powell\, OH.  \nAlso joining Audie will be Jesse Smith from Cambridge.  Jesse Smith builds acoustic guitars and has won many awards\, including the 2021 International Finger Style Championship. \nCome hear them play together in an intimate music parlor setting.  Seating will be limited.  Tickets are available online.

This festival is the 3rd longest running marching band festival in the state of Ohio. High School bands from Southeast and Central Ohio will perform at this prestigious event! Bands scheduled to attend include: Trimble\, Nelsonville-York\, River Valley\, Waterford\, Belpre\, Meigs\, Bloom Carroll\, Marietta\, Berne Union\, Dawson Bryant\, Licking Heights\, Olentangy Liberty\, and Athens. The festival is sponsored by the Athens Band Boosters\, Kiwanis Club of Downtown Athens\, and Chauncey-Dover Lions. Admission is $7 for adults and $5 for children. The gates will open at 9:00am and the festival will conclude with a performance by the Athens High School Marching Green and Gold at 1:45pm. Proceeds go to benefit these community organizations. DESCRIPTION:Cobbler’s Coffee House with Tas Cru & Mary Ann Casale – October 11\, 2024\nTas Cru is most known as a blues artist but his songs show that he is truly a roots music eclectic who refuses to be bound to any one genre. Based out of Central New York he performs in multiple formats ranging from a six-piece backing band to solo acoustic. He sings and plays a wide variety of guitars – at home on either electric\, acoustic\, resonator or cigar box and is known to sprinkle in a bit of harmonica. Tas made his mark in the blues world as the founder and host of his Tas Cru Annual Rum Boogie Jam (2008 – 2023) at the Blues Foundation’s International Blues Challenge in Memphis Today\, Tas tours extensively throughout the US and international touring includes Europe and Canada. \nMary Ann Casale is an eclectic singer-songwriter who always delivers an honest performance. Her voice is rich\, pure\, and refreshingly melodic. Meanwhile\, her guitar playing skills are defined by a deft fingerpicking style\, which is reminiscent of one of her early and most revered influences—the Reverend Gary Davis. Mary Ann’s music may range from sultry jazz-blues to country blues—with tinges of rootsy folk and Americana—but it is always soulful. \nMary Ann and Tas are currently performing in their duo\, Eclipse ~ The Mary Ann Casale & Tas Cru Acoustic Reverie. Also she performs with the Tas Cru band as backing vocalist. Tas and Mary Ann have co-written a number of songs and she assists in arranging as well as sings on his latest albums. \nTas and Mary Ann will be our BITS (Blues in the Schools) educator/presenters at local educational institutions throughout the Mid-Ohio Valley area sponsored to the schools free of charge by the BJFM Society. \nFood is served in the Hotel Lafayette Riverfront Bar & Grill until 8 p.m. Beer\, wine\, coffee\, pop & water will be available in the Gun Room during the show.  Simple appetizers are available in the Gun Room from 7:30 p.m. – 8 p.m. \nAdmission is $15 cash at the door.
