DESCRIPTION:McMillan\, a behaviorist known for having a diverse background with wild animals\, has spent his life perfecting the art of dog training. Drawing from his years as a wild animal trainer for film and television\, McMillan has created a unique hybrid training program where he applies his knowledge and experience from working with wild animals to the domestic world of dogs. His distinct methods can be seen on his Emmy-winning television show “Lucky Dog” on CBS\, which popularized his Seven Common Commands training system (Sit\, Stay\, Down\, Come\, Off\, Heel\, No). \nMcMillan will have two special guests join him for the evening: Marine Corps veteran and Purple Heart recipient Tim Donley\, and Sandy\, his Golden Retriever. McMillan trained Sandy as a service dog for Donley\, who was severely wounded while serving in Afghanistan. \nThe lecture is free and open to the public. DESCRIPTION:The Marietta College Art Department is pleased to present “Paw Paintings: An Exhibition and Auction to Benefit the Humane Society of the Ohio Valley” on display in Atrium Gallery and Gallery 310 for one night only on Friday\, May 17th from 5-7pm. \nThe Art Department will work with dogs available for adoption at the Humane Society of the Ohio Valley to create paw paintings. We will let the happy pups walk through non-toxic paint and then tread on paper to create original works of art that will then be auctioned on May 17th. All money raised at the event and silent auction will go to the Humane Society\, so please come see the fine art of Woof Warhol\, Vincent Van Ruff\, Paw Picasso\, and Bow-Wow O’Keefe\, just to name a few. And in addition to art\, fun\, and food\, Justin Arthur is our musical performer for the evening. \nAtrium Gallery and Gallery 310 are located on the third floor of Hermann Fine Art Center on the campus of Marietta College. All exhibitions and receptions are free and open to the public.

SUMMARY:Natural Freedom Wellness Center Open House
DESCRIPTION:On October 14\, 2017 from Noon to 5:00 pm. Natural Freedom Wellness Center will be hosting their first open house featuring the completion of phase one in their center renovations. Natural Freedom Wellness Center provides nature-based and equine-facilitated opportunities in a relaxed environment for experiential learning\, growth and healing. With serving the community since 2006 it was last year center renovations began in celebration of their 10th year. \nThe start of the center renovations began with lifting the 5th generation barn six inches and a new foundation laid. The barn originally housed a few work horses\, cattle  and a small milking parlor\, currently it is home to 10 horses. Other renovations included replacing the 85 year old + aisle way and adding a brand new tack room with seating. The entire renovation to the center’s group room which includes the addition of a wrap around deck with a beautiful view of the horse pasture. \nNatural Freedom’s team is proud of have served hundreds of individuals over the years. As well as helping Ohio University and Hocking College students learn in their various chosen career paths. \nThe Natural Freedom team hopes that you join them to enjoy their center renovations and a piece of the relaxation. They look forward to seeing you there and answering any questions you have about their team\, their services\, and even how Natural Freedom got stated.

DESCRIPTION:The Ohio University LGBT Center\, Southeast Ohio LGBTQ+ Center and the Southeastern Ohio LGBT Coalition have joined in glittery collaboration to host the first ever Pride Rally and the 3rd Annual Athens Pride Picnic. This is a celebration in honor of Pride Month and an opportunity to come together as a rainbow community. All are welcome to participate in Day 3 of Athens Pride Fest! \nThe weekend of events\, especially the Rally and Picnic\, are solidarity events with the National Equality March for Unity and Pride taking place on June 11 in Washington\, DC. To learn more about the national march: http://www.equalitymarch2017.com/ \nThe Rally will take place at 2pm on College Green by the Civil War Monument and is an opportunity for LGBTQA+ SE Ohioans to be loud and proud as we celebrate all things rainbow and queer! The community-minded beer hall has offered to donate $1 for every beer sold at these events. This months event is Wednesday June 7th 5pm-7:30pm and benefits Friends of the Shelter Dogs! The Athens Sunrise Rotary has generously offered to match every dollar so that means $2 from every pint will go to support the shelter dogs!
