Through their Woodland Pioneers Program\, they have been training professional coppicers as well as introducing amateurs to traditional\, woodland crafts. \n  \nPioneer members are coming here to the States this summer\, possibly the only time in human history\, to bring these skills to the Appalachian Ohio Community through Woodland Pioneers: Ohioneers! \n  \nJoin us for a weekend long series of workshops to learn how to use a shavehorse\, a drawknife\, a froe\, and a knocker. Don’t know what those things are? No problem! We’ll teach you as we make a woven hurdle panel\, a small cleft gate\, and treen. We’ll drink loads of tea and eat heaps of cake while learning how to make a wooden bowl on a pole lathe\, and more broadly\, how to establish a sustainable and regenerative wood plot through the ancient practice of coppicing. \n  \nEvent fee covers the weekend of workshops\, primitive camping\, and vegetarian meals.
