DESCRIPTION:Overnight Historic Guided Bicycle Tour participants will enjoy two days and one night immersed in the natural beauty of Zaleski State Forest while listening to the stories of local historians at points of interest along the way.  A shuttle will be available to carry personal camp gear to our campsite with potable water. Local refreshments and dinner will be provided. \nThe tour will be a non-competitive event allowing for ample time to take in the Appalachian scenery and to learn more about the rich history. This route will twist through the hills and back roads of the forest. On day one we will cycle 23 miles with 1\,229 feet of elevation gain and a max grade of 8.8%. Throughout the day we will take six interpretive stops at historic points of interest with local refreshment at mid-point. A locally sourced dinner will be provided at our campsite. Day two will be a 7.4 mile ride back to the Waterloo Fire Department parking lot.  Participants should anticipate gravel roads and some mild off-roading. This is a non-supported tour\, meaning participants should come prepared with personal camping gear\, bike repair kits and water. What was once the coal miners’ company store\, now is renovated into a beer hall and eatery. Participants will have the opportunity to experience live music and a wide variety of drinks on tap upon returning from the tour. DESCRIPTION:Join Rural Action’s newest social enterprise\, Appalachian Understories\, Guided Experiences in SE OH\, for a 12-mile guided bicycle tour through the winding back roads of Athens County. The tour will consist of 2 interpretive stops\, including Woodcock Nature Preserve\, where Badger Johnson will inform participants about efforts to create bird habitat throughout the preserve and offer a tour of the Chestnut tree orchard\, cotton alley cropping\, wildflower prairie\, and woodland trail with quaint bridges and ginseng. Participants will then ride to Fox Lake to meet bird enthusiast Joe Brehm\, who will lead a birding event.  Participants can anticipate seeing a variety of fall migratory species. Tour guide Madison Donohue will be riding with cyclists during the event.\n\nThe tour will start and end at the Big Oak shelter at Lake Snowden. This is a non-supported ride\, meaning participants should come prepared with personal bike repair kits and water. Participants should expect gravel roads\, some single track trail and 900 ft elevation gain. Helmets are required and minor children are permitted on this tour but must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.

Submissions can range from the most traditional to the most conceptual or experimental. The only criteria for entry is that artists must be at least 18 years old and must reside\, work\, go to school\, or have grown up in Coshocton\, Muskingum\, Licking\, Holmes\, or Tuscarawas Counties. SUMMARY:A Ride Through Time Guided Bike Tour: Shawnee
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a guided bike tour starting in the historic village of Shawnee. From there we will cycle 20 miles though the rolling Appalachian hills and through several coal mining towns with 1\,415 ft of elevation gain and a max grade of 8%. Our first stop will be at Snow Fork Creek where we will learn about the water quality of the region and the long lasting effects of the many abandoned coal mines. Then we will pedal to Dunkel Hall to discuss the exciting history of the mines with a member of the New Straitsville History Group and visit Robinsons Cave. Before we leave we will stop by the Moonshine Distillery to learn more about the history of the town and participants will have the opportunity to purchase a bottle. This is a self supported tour\, meaning participants should come prepared with water and personal bike repair kits. Helmets and closed toe shoes are required.

The tour will be a non competitive event allowing for ample time to take in the Appalachian scenery and learn more about the rich history. This route will twist through the hills and back roads of the county\, participants should anticipate 1\,269 feet elevation gain with at 16.9% max grade and some gravel roads. This is a non-supported tour\, meaning participants should come prepared with personal bike repair kits and water\, helmets are required. Join us for a rich experience of connecting to SouthEast Ohio by cycling through the Appalachian hills\, enjoying local foods\, and immersing yourself in the history of the region.

DESCRIPTION:Ride with us through the beautiful back roads of Athens County for a 20 mile wine tour. You will have the opportunity to patronize two wineries along the ride. We will ride from Dutch Creek Winery to Wolftree Winery where we will stop to taste some of Bradly’s meads and wines. You will have a chance to walk through the vineyard and hear how Bradly built his Winery from the ground up. From Wolftree we will loop back to Dutch Creek Winery where we will end the tour and have more opportunity to sample or purchase a bottle. This tour is 19.3 miles with 1\,605 feet of elevation gain with a max grade of 10.7% on some gravel roads. What was once the coal miners’ company store\, now is renovated into a beer hall and eatery. Participants will have the opportunity to patron the Company Store that now offers a wide variety of drinks on tap upon returning from the tour.

SUMMARY:Lifting up Diversity in the Little Cites
DESCRIPTION:Help us to uplift diversity in the Little Cities of Black Diamonds region by learning about the history of the Black community in Southeast Ohio. Our tour will start in front of the Hangover Easy diner where the Berry Hotel once stood and is now marked with a Historic Plaque. Brian Koscho of Invisible Ground will then lead us down West Washington Street\, through the West State Cemetery\, and to Mount Zion while he tells us stories of Black entrepreneurship\, education\, and community building. A portion of all ticket sales will go to the efforts of the Mount Zion Baptist Church Preservation Society to restore the historic church as a thriving community hub once again. Your participation will help Mount Zion accomplish their mission of supporting the contributions\, history\, and ongoing concerns of Black Americans everywhere. This tour will be a 1.5 mile walk on paved roads and sidewalks around uptown Athens with some hills. We will begin and end the tour at the Berry Hotel historical plaque which stands in front of the Hangover Easy Diner.
