SUMMARY:The Actor's Guild of Parkersburg presents: 'The Play that Goes Wrong'
DESCRIPTION:The Play That Goes Wrong opens at the Actors Guild of Parkersburg on June 16. \nThe show unfolds on opening night of the Cornley University Drama Society’s newest production\, The Murder at Haversham Manor\, where things are quickly going from bad to utterly disastrous. This 1920s whodunit has everything you never wanted in a show—an unconscious leading lady\, a corpse that can’t play dead\, and actors who trip over everything (including their lines). \nThe show is based very much in British comedy that plays on physical humor and puns. Fans of Monty Python\, Mr. Bean\, Fawlty Towers\, and even the Carol Burnett Show\, will really enjoy the well-crafted humor. \nCurtain time for The Play That Goes Wrong is 8 PM on June 16\, 17\, 23\, and 24; 6 PM on June 18; and 2:30 PM on June 25. Tickets cost $20 ($18 for students and seniors) and are available now at https://www.actors-guild.com/buy-tickets.html. \n  \nThe production is sponsored by Napoli’s and is rated PG (for British humor).

SUMMARY:Classics & Cocktails: REAR WINDOW
DESCRIPTION:Our featured cocktail this week will be inspired by the swirling brandy snifters served up by Princess Grace in this Hitchcock classic. More details soon! \nAlfred Hitchcock’s 1954 mystery/thriller is next in our Classics & Cocktails lineup on Friday\, June 16th at 7pm! Admission is $8. Drink prices vary. \nRear Window is one of the best summer thrillers of all time. Not only is it set over the course of a sweltering week in Greenwich Village\, but the steamy\, claustrophobic setting is intensified by Jimmy Stewart’s role as the wheelchair bound photographer\, in this one-set wonder. Even with the cool beauty of Grace Kelly\, we become trapped in Jeff’s voyeuristic view\, and the murder outside his window. \nAlong with the specialty cocktail\, we will have a full menu of wine\, local beer and local ciders.
