SUMMARY:Classics & Cocktails: JAWS
DESCRIPTION:Duuuunnnn duun…duuunnnnnnn dun dun dun dun dun dun dun dun dun dun dunnnnnnnnn dunnn! We are still on the hunt for some iconic Narragansset beer cans for our screenings of JAWS but in the meantime\, we will be featuring a delicious Sharkbite Cocktail! More details coming soon. \nClassics & Cocktails is back for a summer series! Join us on Friday\, June 2nd at 7pm for the 1975 thriller\, JAWS. Admission is $8. Drink prices vary. \nWhen a young woman is killed by a shark while skinny-dipping near the New England tourist town of Amity Island\, police chief Martin Brody (Roy Scheider) wants to close the beaches\, but mayor Larry Vaughn (Murray Hamilton) overrules him\, fearing that the loss of tourist revenue will cripple the town. Ichthyologist Matt Hooper (Richard Dreyfuss) and grizzled ship captain Quint (Robert Shaw) offer to help Brody capture the killer beast\, and the trio engage in an epic battle of man vs. nature. \nAlong with the specialty cocktail\, we will have a full menu of wine\, local beer and local ciders.

SUMMARY:RESILIENCE
DESCRIPTION:SETICC\, Athens HOPE\, NAMI Athens and the Athena Cinema invite you to a free screening of RESILIENCE on Thursday\, May 18th at 7pm. \nResearchers have recently discovered a dangerous biological syndrome caused by abuse and neglect during childhood. As the new documentary Resilience reveals\, toxic stress can trigger hormones that wreak havoc on the brains and bodies of children\, putting them at a greater risk for disease\, homelessness\, prison time\, and early death. While the broader impacts of poverty worsen the risk\, no segment of society is immune. Resilience\, however\, also chronicles the dawn of a movement that is determined to fight back. Trailblazers in pediatrics\, education\, and social welfare are using cutting-edge science and field-tested therapies to protect children from the insidious effects of toxic stress—and the dark legacy of a childhood that no child would choose. \nA panel discussion will take place after the screening.
