DESCRIPTION:MARIETTA\, Ohio – The Castle museum\, (418 Fourth Street)\, will host “Coming Alive” at Mound Cemetery on Saturday\, August 31. The tour is scheduled for 10 a.m. \nThis year’s “Coming Alive” cemetery tour features a return to Mound Cemetery\, but new characters! Each year our “coming alive” tour brings to life several interesting individuals buried in local cemeteries through living history interpreters. These interpreters give voice to the day-to-day life\, extraordinary events\, or intriguing connections throughout the cemetery. You and your family will be able to listen to historical accounts\, ask questions\, and walk away with a deeper understanding of our local history. \nTickets are $12 per person. Tickets can be purchased online at https://mariettacastle.org/events or by visiting The Castle’s Carriage House during open hours\, Monday\, Thursday and Friday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. \nTour begins at Mound Cemetery\, located at Fifth and Scammel in Marietta\, Ohio. DESCRIPTION:It’s playtime at The Nest!\n\nBreak the routine\, get out of the house and come let your little ones play in a fresh space while you get to talk with other grown-ups for awhile!\n\nCome and go as you please anytime during our open play hours.  Toys and activities are geared towards babies and toddlers but older siblings are welcome to come along.\n\nWhile you’re here\, peruse the lending library of books\, DVDs and even baby carriers free to borrow!\n\nTuesdays masks are optional\, while Thursdays are mask-only for those who prefer a “mask-on” environment.\n\nDisinfectant wipes are always available and we have a tub for toys that have been “mouthed” so they can be washed before future use.\n\nA changing table and toddler potty are available as well as a bottle warmer and fridge for storing formula/milk.

Refreshments will be for sale by the National Trail Ruritan Club\, with all proceeds going to the New Concord Food Bank. \n\nAugust 13  – Northwest Territory\nAugust 27  – Swing’s the Thing\n\nCelebrate New Concord (CNC) began informally in 2000 with a free performance in Village Park by the Muskingum College Faculty Brass Quintet\, which was then directed by the late Dr. William Schlacks. Based on the response that year\, Celebrate New Concord began in 2001\, with Bill as its founder. \nSince then\, CNC has grown to six performances each summer\, on the second and fourth Tuesdays of June\, July and August\, at 7:00 p.m. in Village Park in downtown New Concord. \nCNC has reached over 17\,000 audience members since 2001\, with a mix of music\, theater\, educational programming and magic\, and has become a regular part of summer in New Concord. \nCNC is supported entirely by contributions from individuals and organizations to the Celebrate New Concord Patronage Program\, and every dollar received goes to support the series. No one involved in the organization of CNC is paid.
