SUMMARY:Multicultural Genealogical Center Speaker and Light Lunch
DESCRIPTION:The Multicultural Genealogical Center will welcome Cheryl Kirkbride and Tara Sidwell who will share with us “The Kate Love Simpson Library:  Past and Present”.  They will talk about the library system as a whole and then show us pictures of the Chesterhill library before\, during and after the most recent renovations. \nTara Sidwell has assisted with youth programming\, implemented adult programming and reference services\, and currently serves as Director of the Kate Love Simpson Library since 2013.  She has a Bachelor’s degree from Ohio University and a Master of Library and Information Science from Kent State University.   \nCheryl Kirkbride is the Chesterhill Library Branch Manager.  She is a graduate of Morgan High School and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Agriculture from The Ohio State University. While traveling around the country with her husband’s job she worked at multiple bookstores before returning to Morgan County and becoming a member of The Kate Love Simpson Library team in 2003. She started as a circulation clerk before moving to children’s programming\, the bookmobile and currently the manager of the Chesterhill Branch Library in 2020.

SUMMARY:May Guided Hike: Signs of Spring -COSI Science Festival Community Event
DESCRIPTION:Join this free guided hike on Wayne National Forest’s Baileys Trail System to look for signs of spring. \n\n\n\n\nCome along for an in-person adventure as we discover the blooming wonders and fresh signs of spring on this guided hike led by a National Association for Interpretation Certified Interpretive Guide. Meeting at Chauncey-Dover Trailhead Park before carvanning to another site. This is the last opportunity to use the bathroom facilities. The group will wait at the shelter house until 545 before departing. This hike will not take the full two hours\, but it leaves a buffer window. May’s hike will be on Bullfrog Loop\, which is an easy trail with gently rolling dips and easy turns on a 1.5 miles loop that is Natural Tread 36-48″ wide. \nThe guide is Wilderness First Responder-certified and carries a first-aid kit. Hike at your own risk.

DESCRIPTION:It’s playtime at The Nest!\n\nBreak the routine\, get out of the house and come let your little ones play in a fresh space while you get to talk with other grown-ups for awhile!\n\nCome and go as you please anytime during our open play hours.  Toys and activities are geared towards babies and toddlers but older siblings are welcome to come along.\n\nWhile you’re here\, peruse the lending library of books\, DVDs and even baby carriers free to borrow!\n\nTuesdays masks are optional\, while Thursdays are mask-only for those who prefer a “mask-on” environment.\n\nDisinfectant wipes are always available and we have a tub for toys that have been “mouthed” so they can be washed before future use.\n\nA changing table and toddler potty are available as well as a bottle warmer and fridge for storing formula/milk.
