DESCRIPTION:Sandy Plunkett Book Signing \nThe Southeast Ohio History Center is sponsoring a book signing event with Athens-based artist and comics writer\, Sandy Plunkett on Thursday\, July 30th from 5:30pm until 7pm in conjunction with the release of his recently released book A Brush with History\, a 35-year Retrospective of his Southeast Ohio related art. \nPlunkett\, who had been a New York based artist drawing for DC\, Marvel Comics\, and others relocated to Southeast Ohio decades ago and found his sketchbook filling with drawings of this regions rural landscape and buildings. His trademark look began appearing on posters\, album covers\, t-shirts and in political cartoons. Many of these works were on exhibit at the Southeast Ohio History Center in the last few years. Some of these works have been included in his book. \nPlunkett will give a talk about his work and his time in Southeast Ohio with his pencils and pads and sign copies of his books for visitors. \nThe Southeast Ohio History Center is located at 24 West State Street in Athens. \nFor more information about this event of the Southeast Ohio History Center call 740-592-2280 or visit the web at www.southeastohiohistory.org.
