Many geologists travel and enjoy spending time outdoors. Careers can be environmental related, hydrogeology, petroleum or marine based. There are also specialty careers in planetary, economic, and engineering geology along with other branches. According to Ohio University's Geology website, "A job satisfaction poll found that geology ranks #2 in overall job satisfaction."
