Role of Government

Supreme Court OhioOhio's three branches of government are the legislative branch, the executive branch and the judicial branch. The General Assembly is the legislative branch and it has two parts, the House of Representatives and the Senate. The main duty of the legislative branch is to make laws for Ohio. The executive branch is lead by the governor and its main duty is to enforce Ohio laws. The judicial branch is lead by the Supreme Court. Its main duty is to interpret and apply Ohio laws.
