Cooking with the Stars (Of what are stars made?)

Students are engaged in a dialogue to learn how astronomers know of what stars are made and of what we all are made.  How can astronomers study the make up of stars? After all, we can’t go to a star (like the Sun) and bring back a spoonful of material to the laboratory for examination in a test tube. Students learn how light and spectroscopy gives us these answers.
