How to build a comfortable 2×4 bench
February 15, 2020 @ 8:00 am - 5:00 pm$100
Are you looking for a way to get into woodworking? Need a comfy bench but would rather make than buy? Come on out to this basic woodshop class at Athens Makerspace.
In this class you will learn how to make repeated cuts to the specified dimensions and safe operation of woodshop power tools. You will also learn how to securely fasten materials together. Familiarity with chop saws and drills recommended but not required.
All materials are provided to build a bench from pressure treated lumber.
Class fee: $100.
[Just to be clear, in this class you will be building the pictured bench only, not the end tables. Based upon interest, however, the end tables could be a future class].
Participants should plan to wear closed-toed shoes and tight fitting sleeves. Hair must be out of the way. We will be using power tools.
Minimum age of participants is 18 unless accompanied by a parent and with prior approval. Please contact the instructor for additional information at email@example.com.
Don’t have a way to get your finished bench home? Delivery of the finished bench within a 10 mile radius is available for $20. Delivery to locations further away can be negotiated.
ALL CLASS SIGNUPS AND FEES WILL BE DUE BY MIDNIGHT, WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 5TH, to give us time to order materials in advance of class time. Once you sign up at the link below, you will be sent a link to pay your class fee via Paypal.
