Words from the Artists:

Patricia Lachman –
“I have been involved daily with photography for years. From the time I arise in the morning until the magical darkening hour of sunset, I am in awe of the day that I see evolving. Photography is a medium that calls me to take in and savor the lighting masterpieces that emerge moment by moment and then subside. Each day is a miracle to interact with.”

“Strata of Healing: self and society includes my photographic project about the society of Cuba. That island county, so close in proximity to my own, emerged from 400 years of colonial exploitation and oppression in 1959 into an independent time of finding new identity and expression during the 58 years since then. For me, Cuba is a cognitive wonderment concerning its healing process from colonialism, as well as being a banquet for my senses with its colors, vitality and constant people to people warmth.”

Wanda –
“I am a self taught artist. My career is in Custom Picture Framing, having operated my own shop for the last 24 years.

“Several major life changing events have occured during the last 6 years. These events have also given me the courage to accept and create this show.”

“These works represent my personal journey of healing, a journey that started long—long ago.”
