DESCRIPTION:Join us for a rich experience by connecting to Southeast Ohio while cycling through the old railroad beds of Appalachia\, enjoying local food & drinks\, and immersing yourself in the history of the region. \nThis 14 mile historic bike tour along the Hockhocking Adena Bike-way is perfect for any level of cyclist. On this tour you will visit the ruins of the town of Old Floodwood. Here we will meet local historian\, Tyler McDaniel\, who will tell us stories of the past as he shares his passion of Appalachian history and his colloquial knowledge of Old Floodwood\, the town his Great Grandma was a resident of long ago. The start and end location of this tour is Eclipse Company Store. What was once the coal miners’ company store\, now is renovated into a beer hall and eatery. Participants will have the opportunity to patron the Company Store that now offers a wide variety of drinks on tap upon returning from the tour. \n*Helmets are required for all participants. \nFree adaptive bike equipment is available for participants with limited mobility upon request. SUMMARY:Olde Pickerington Village to Lockville
DESCRIPTION:Cycle from Olde Pickerington Village to Lockville on this 14 mile guided bike tour. You will feel as though you have stepped back in time once arriving at the Hartman #2 Covered Bridge in Lockville Canal Park. Local historians will be dressed in period clothing as they share stories of what life was like while the canals were in use. We will then peddle to Coyote Run\, Ohio’s newest State Nature Preserve where we will hear about the restoration efforts of the preserve. The tour will ride through Sycamore Creek Park\, which has the covered bridge\, Zeller-Smith Bridge\, and Sycamore Creek Park Arboretum. The Zeller-Smith Bridge will be our last stop\, here participants will listen to stories of how the bridge was relocated and almost destroyed in the process. \n  \nThe tour will begin and end at the public parking lot 89 N Center Street in Olde Pickerington\, located across the tracks from Combustion Brewery & Taproom and around the corner from Porter’s Coffee House and Bakery. This is a non-supported ride\, meaning participants should come prepared with personal bike repair kits and water. Participants should expect mostly paved roads with some crush limestone and 366 ft elevation gain with 3.1% max grade. Helmets are required and minor children are permitted on this tour but must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.

SUMMARY:A Historic Bike Tour with Tom O'Grady
DESCRIPTION:Join Appalachian Understories in a collaboration with the Southeast Ohio Historic Center as we ride through Dover township and explore the ruins of coal mining structures\, ride over the covered bridge and hear about the legacy of the Millfield mine disaster at the monument site. This is a 12 mile ride with 627 ft elevation gain and a max gradient of 9.6% this is a non supported tour meaning participants should come prepared with water and personal bike repair kits. Helmets and closed toe shoes required. The ride will begin and end at the Baileys Trail System parking lot in Chauncey.
